Community of Hope’s mentoring program seeks to match homeless and formerly homeless youth ages 9 to 16 with a compassionate, committed, and responsible adult mentor for one year or more. The purpose of our mentoring program is to support our youth through positive socialization experiences, academic support, and guidance to break the cycle of poverty.

What is a mentor? Mentors are guides, friends, listeners, and positive role models for their mentees. The mentor encourages the mentee to develop to his or her highest potential. The mentor helps their mentee to develop a vision for the future.

How much time is required? The mentoring pair is expected to meet at least twice per month for a total of 4 hours or more each month. You should be able to commit for one year or more, be flexible, and have lots of energy!

How can I become a mentor? Fill out an application here. You will be required to go through an interview process that includes a background check.
